In February 2025, Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Qiushi Hospital of Hangzhou signed a cooperation agreement to jointly conduct a multi-center, prospective, open-label, endpoint blind, randomized controlled trial (CLEAN-AD) on cervical deep lymphatic vein anastomosis in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
It is understood that the CLEAN-AD study program included 587 patients with moderate and severe Alzheimer's disease, with conservative drug therapy as a control group, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cervical deep lymphatic venostomy to improve the clinical symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, and provide scientific evidence for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
The project leaders are Professor Wang Yilong from Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Professor Xie Qingping from Qiushi Hospital of Hangzhou.
At present, the research project is conducting sub-center recruitment. The sub-center recruitment and research training assessment will be completed from March 2025 to May 2025. The RCT study is expected to be completed between June 2025 and June 2027.
